Spoilers: the future of Heroes

I still love the show. I still love all the characters. I didn’t liked AT ALL this news. Spoilers, at your count and risk.

First, the Ausielo’s Blind Item:

I get that there’s no easy way to lay someone off, but, come on, this is ridiculous: A male series regular on a one-hour drama — a onetime ratings powerhouse — learned that he was out of a job only after reading his character’s death scene in the script!

According to my mole, the popular and well-respected leading man — who tapes his final scenes this week — was blindsided not just by his ouster, but by the tacky way in which it was handled. “He was hurt that the producers didn’t tell him first,” says the source. “He deserved better.”

The real surprise is that, well, anyone was surprised at all. The actors on said show have long been frustrated by the lack of communication coming from the front office. Still, as the insider points out, “This was low even for them.”

So, who’ll be looking for work starting next week? And what show does he currently star on? Here’s the first of two hints: It’s not — I repeat not — Grey’s Anatomy. Look for that second hint in this week’s Ask Ausiello.

Later, Kristin announcement:

This one is going to leave a mark.

Sources over on NBC’s Heroes confirm to me that a major death is in the works, and this is not one that will go unnoticed by even the most casual fan.

It is huge.

So who is it?

Well, you know how these things go…We can’t come right out and name any names. (Unless someone can hook me up right quick with the Witness Protection Program?)

However, I will tell you that this leading character is a male, and he is not necessarily pictured above. (He might be, he might not be.) And he is one of the original cast.

And you thought Hayden’s same-sex kiss was surprising, eh?

Clearly the producers are pulling out all the stops this season in an effort to ramp up storylines and pull out a big watercooler-worthy surprise.

But I have to say that I, for one, will miss this guy. Big-time.

Now here’s the fun and torturous part for you: Start guessing below…

Not good AT ALL. In all comments we’re reading, they pointing us to Sylar. Some to Nathan, Peter, Hiro. And even HRG – that would be ridiculous, at least to me. I need to say, any death would be so sad, but deppending who they kill, it will be the end to Heroes to me.

  • Kam

My guess is Hiro. It’s sort of been leading up to it.
And Nathan is, well, shocker, he’s already gone.

  • Ira

Well, yeah, it says it’s huge, but there’s really no point in killing Sylar now. Peter’s with the girl, so that doesn’t make sense either… Matt? Sylar getting to him to get his consciousness back? But Matt is someone who probably can really fight Sylar…

HRG might die since he’s got no job now. Looks like he’s trying to get back in business though.

I say it’s Hiro – he’s been dying since season 3 and time travel only messes up the story, the writers just can’t keep track of it any more.

Although it actually looks like Nathan is gone for good… I mean – how can he come back now? I kinda liked him though 🙂 Especially his duos with Hiro 🙂 “Billan?” – “Villan!” he-he 🙂

But – as long as it’s not Sylar I don’t care much 🙂

  • Fiy

It’s not going to be Sylar. People are not reading the info right! It states in Kristen’s bit that the person getting the boot is one of the ORIGINAL cast members. And as I recall , Zach was not cast as Sylar until sometime after the pilot was filmed. Plus he was not added to the main cast until season two!

I honestly think it will be Mohinder, Matt or HRG because killing Hiro would be to obvious and if the kill Peter they’d be taking half there fan base with it.

    Thank you 😉

  • Porsylin

Reading that, I realized that Matt Parkman’s character is a possibility as well. I feel the shitting of bricks coming. S:

  • Tam

The one reason I don’t think it is Sylar, is because I do believe they said it is an original cast member, and Zach isn’t technically an original cast member.

  • ZachRocks

God I hope it’s not Sylar! But yeah, my first thought, too was that Zach’s NOT an original cast member, so I don’t think it’ll be him. And anyway, Heroes without Sylar? No way.
I think it’s Nathan or Hiro, for the same reasons already said above. Adn something else: So many characters died already and still came back, so who says this is final? Think of Ali, she had two different characters before, Nathan died once already, Adam Monroe came back, Sylar died more than once…^^ And with all the time-travelling, there’s at least the possibility for the person to come back as a guest-star.

  • Luciana

I think it’s not Sylar, too, since he’s not an original cast member.
Nathan died last season, so it won’t be a surprise. And Hiro is dying since 3rd season. S:
It can be Mohinder, since he even it’s not the narrator anymore…

  • I really hope it’s not Sylar but people loves him too much to let him die…. It hurts but I hope it’s Hiro too because he’s going to die in the story and, as much I loved that character in previous seasons, now he hasn’t that much to say 🙁 Whoever will be, will be sad anyway because I love this show so much too! I loved it from the pilot and I still hope that they will find a way to keep Pasdar (Nathan) in the story…. another cast member leave make me really sad 🙁

  • Daniel

Honestly, I think it is Hiro.

The biggest hint in the news story is that this death won’t go unnoticed even by casual watchers.

I never watched Heroes until about a month ago, when I watched the first three seasons and fell in love. Before I watched the show a month ago, I only knew of Claire and Hiro – they are easily the two most identifiable on the show to those who don’t watch.

Because of this, it has to be Hiro. Also, Hiro in the past few episodes has admitted that he was dying, so it wouldn’t be too much of a shock to viewers to see him go.

  • Marian

it’s totally Hiro. It cannot be Sylar, because he is leading the entire show!!!

  • Maven

It’s got to be Mohinder! He’s been absent since season 4 began and they’ll probably bring him back just to finish him off for the shock value. Any main character’s exit will be greatly missed, but I’m glad it won’t be Sylar. He’s way too valuable!!

  • I think everyone’s overreacting thinking that it’s going to be Zach/Sylar that goes. I think Zach is the hottest thing since sliced bread, but that aside, Sylar is one of the most popular characters on the show (if not thee most popular), and the good folks at NBC would be shooting themselves in the foot if they knocked off Sylar.

Nathan and Hiro would be the two most obvious choices to knock off, but why do something so blatantly obvious?? That too would not be a smart move. That basically leaves Peter Petrelli and Noah Bennet. Based on what Samuel said in last week’s episode about isolating Claire from her “normal” life, what better way to isolate her than to kill her loved ones. That being said, I think it will be Noah Bennet (HRG) that is being knocked off!!!!
