Oct28| Zachary Quinto just saved American Horror Story

Up until now I’ve been describing American Horror Story as highly watchable garbage. Highly watchable, because of the powerhouse performances Jessica Lange has been delivering each and every week, with her collection of horny ghouls. But garbage, because the family unit and main characters elicit no emotional response whatsoever from the audience. All that changed last night, when Zachary Quinto joined the cast.

In the big two-part Halloween episode, we get to meet the “murder-suicide” gay couple who fixed up the Murder House. But what’s this? Their death was not “murder-suicide” as had been previously stated — there’s a tweeest! Turns out, like everything else in the house stuffed with oversexed spirits, Quinto and his Man were murdered by The Rubber Man!

And according to the rules of Murder House, once you die in this gorgeous Restoration Hardware showroom, your soul is forever doomed to roam the halls, sniffing around for sex and trouble. First off, this is my absolutely favorite death flash so far this season. The completely over-the-top Martha Stewart gay that Quinto was channeling could have been a bloody awful to watch. But thank goodness, Quinto is a very talented actor, and watching his transition from snipping homemaker to intense OCD nut job was wildly entertaining, and actually quite scary. Can we just get rid of the Harmons, and follow around Chad and Patrick?

To read the whole article, go here. It’s not my oppinion, since I like the show, but I couldn’t agree more on her asking to follow around Chad and Patrick.

Oct27| Star Trek Sequel Not Going to Be Called Star Trek 2

Although there aren’t many details about J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Trek sequel, rumors are coming from the set that the movie won’t be called Star Trek 2. The franchise moved away from numerical sequel titles after the sixth original installment with Star Trek: Generations, but it is clear that the new film will also steer clear from the numbers.

The original crew for the 2009 remake will be back for seconds, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Karl Urban with J.J. Abrams at the reigns.

Access Hollywod recently caught up with actress Zoe Saldana, who played Nyota Uhura in the first film, to talk about where the production currently lies:

“We still haven’t gotten a script yet,” she said of progress on the film, which Access has confirmed with a source will begin shooting in mid-January. “We’re very excited to read it and get back into space.”

Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have penned the sequel, and a release date is still to be determined. Star Trek 2 comes to theaters in 2012.

Oct24| American Horror Story Clip: “Halloween Part 1″

v

Zachary Quinto makes his American Horror Story debut this Wednesday night.

His character – one half of the gay couple who owned the show’s haunted house prior to the Harmons, and who we’ve been told was killed in a murder/suicide – is featured below, seemingly forcing Vivien and Ben to celebrate Halloween… and taking serious issue with their choice of apples.

It’s as strange a clip as you’d expect from this fun, creepy series and it also gives us a glance at where things are between the main married couple, as well as Vivien’s pregnancy.
