American Horror Story star Frances Conroy will return for Season 2, creator Ryan Murphy announced on Twitter.
“Thrilled to announce Emmy nominee Frances Conroy is returning to AHS. Devils and angels this year…Frannie plays the ultimate angel,” Murphy wrote.
The second installment of the FX series, dubbed Asylum, will takes place in a mental institution run by Sister Jude (Jessica Lange). Zachary Quinto returns as a progressive doctor who clashes with Jude’s philosophies. James Cromwell plays the possible Nazi Dr. Arden who uses the patients as his own never-ending supply of test subjects. Evan Peters plays inmate and extra-terrestrial believer Kit, who’ll be subjected to Sister Jude’s unorthodox punishments. Lily Rabe, Joseph Fiennes, Adam Levine, Jenna Dewan, Sarah Paulson and Chloe Sevigny also star.
American Horror Story: Asylum premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 10/9c.
