The American Film Institute (AFI) today announced the official selections of AFI AWARDS 2012, which “documents the year’s most outstanding achievements in film and television.” Both the film and television lists include 10 selections, with the film list often proving somewhat similar to what the Oscars end up going for in their best picture category.

“American Horror Story” is under their 10 best TV Programs of the year. Check the full list below:

AFI will honor the creative ensembles for each of the selections at an invitation-only luncheon on Friday, January 11, 2013 in Los Angeles, California.

Zachary has been nominated for Best Guest Performer in Television at the 38th Saturn Awards. Winners will be announced on June 20.

Best Villain: Ok, everybody loves Eric Northman (I surely do), but he’s not a villain. So let’s fix it, because the best villain is Sylar for sure!
